Our homes

Lily Residential Services are very proud to be registering our first three children’s homes in Dorset. We are opening two homes in Weymouth and one in Poole.

Our homes are relatively small provisions, able to house two children each, aged 12-17 years.

We provide full-time staff with specialist skills to meet the individual needs of the children in our care.  With a nurturing and person-centred approach, we enable children with the ability to continue learning and developing life skills with the aim of facilitating a safe phased return to the family home.

Lily Residential Services promises to provide:

  • Safe accommodation and suitable facilities for young people who are ready for independent living, giving appropriate levels of care and support based on their individual needs and circumstances.
  • Stability of relationships, educational stability and continuity of contact with family, relatives and friends.
  • An active assessment of the home situation, planning with the social worker to facilitate a return home, then support children and young people and families in their home environment for ‘as long as it takes’ to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Therapeutic support to the child/young person to respond to trauma, build confidence, provide stability in their lives and reduce the frequency of their behaviours.
  • Support for the child/young person’s family to reduce the risk of harm, improve the quality of the parent/child relationship and improve parental motivation.

All homes operating under Lily Residential Services are Ofsted regulated.

Who we support

At Lily Residential Services we support children aged 12-17 years, who have complex emotional, social and behavioural needs, 365 days a year.

We provide care that is specific to the needs of the young people who reside with us and help them understand and learn to overcome experiences that have affected their young lives.

Our residents are often at risk of absconding or going missing, sexual and criminal exploitation, offending and anti-social behaviours, non-engagement in education, and mental health and historical trauma. In their past, they may have been subjected to and/or witnessed physical, emotional and sexual abuse, neglect and domestic violence.

The young people who are placed with us may have had numerous placement breakdowns in the past or may have recently come to the UK as an unaccompanied asylum seeker with vulnerability and fear of being abused, tortured, trafficked or even murdered. We support and encourage our young residents to be able to continue practising their religious and cultural beliefs without fear of prejudice.

Our residential services enable young people to take a step towards independence through a stimulating, energising and supportive environment, in which young people can enjoy a challenging and enjoyable introduction to adult life.

All children and young people have a person-centred care plan established within 28 days of admission, outlining their needs, areas of skills to be encouraged and developed, future goals and aspirations. The plan provides a clear structure showing how these needs and goals will be met, and who will be responsible for actioning and supporting each area.

Staff structure

The Lily Housing Project ensures its homes are well-staffed and that all young people residing with us has regular face-to-face contact in which they can get the support they need. 

Our staff develop trusting relationships with our residents, forming memorable bonds and celebrating achievement together. Our staffing standards and organisational ethos commits to providing friendly, knowledgeable and professional staff who help inspire, educate and problem-solve.

We pride ourselves on not only providing a dedicated team that ensures the young people we support remain at forefront of our provision, but also providing our team with the opportunity to learn, grow and develop themselves too.

Our projects are overseen by a specialist management team and highly skilled project leads, alongside high-quality, dedicated floating support workers that work across our projects every day.

We provide support 365 days a year, ensuring our resident’s safety and maximising potential in ensuring growth towards independence.
